The Filipino Cursillos in Christianity is under the umbrella of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Cursillo movement. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles Cursillo movement is composed of seven language groups, Chinese, English, Filipino, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Vietnamese which is affiliated with the National Cursillo.
The Cursillo Movement. The Cursillo is both a movement and a method. The purpose of the movement is to create small groups of Christians that will evangelize their environment with the Gospel spirit. The purpose of the method is to help persons to live what is fundamental for being a Christian by committing themselves to the spiritual aids the Church offers in order to grow in Piety, Study, and Action.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ :
This coming Sunday, September 5, we will be having our usual Ultreya at the Youth Center Hall of St. Christopher Church from 4:15 to 6:30 PM. We have no assigned speaker but we will be sharing our reflections on the Gospel and the homilies from where we attend Mass instead. This is a good chance for us to learn about and hear reflections from different perspectives as we share it in the Ultreya. You may also prepare your own study and reflections. We will also sing Mananita for our Sepember Birthday & Anniversary celebrants, plus our Cursillo Praise and Worship songs.
Here is the Gospel for this coming Sunday:
Luke 14: 25 - 33
|
| 25 |
Now great multitudes accompanied him; and he turned and said to them, |
| 26 |
"If any one comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. |
| 27 |
Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me, cannot be my disciple. |
| 28 |
For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? |
| 29 |
Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation, and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, |
| 30 |
saying, `This man began to build, and was not able to finish.' |
| 31 |
Or what king, going to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and take counsel whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? |
| 32 |
And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends an embassy and asks terms of peace. |
| 33 |
So therefore, whoever of you does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
|
God bless & De Colores!,
Bro Ruben Catabas
P.S. Let us also pray for the repose of the soul of our dear sister Felina Garces.
